COUNCIL MINUTES November 9, 2009 <br /> APPROVED <br /> 1 <br /> 2 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> 3 MINUTES <br /> 4 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 DATE : November 9, 2009 <br /> 8 TIME STARTED : 6:30 p.m. <br /> 9 TIME ENDED : 7:15 p.m. <br /> 10 MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Members Gallup, Reinert, O'Donnell, <br /> 11 and Mayor Bergeson <br /> 12 MEMBERS ABSENT : none <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Staff members present: City Attorney, Joseph Langel; Director of Public Safety Dave Pecchia; <br /> 15 Director of Finance Al Rolek; Director of Community Development Michael Grochala; City <br /> 16 Engineer Jim Studenski; Public Services Director Rick DeGardner; City Clerk Julie Bartell. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 PUBLIC COMMENT/OPEN MIKE <br /> 19 <br /> 20 There was no public comment. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 SETTING THE AGENDA <br /> 23 <br /> `-- 24 The agenda was amended to indicate that Items 6Bi and 6Bii would be considered at a future <br /> 25 meeting; and to add presentation of a donation from the Turtleman Triathalon. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Centennial Fire District—Life Saver Award - Chief Jerry Streich presented several awards given <br /> 30 by North Memorial Ambulance Service. These awards are presented when a responder supplies <br /> 31 care from the time they arrive until the time they are discharged. Two awards are being <br /> 32 presented this evening. He presented an award to the following firefighters who were involved <br /> 33 in a life saving incident on June 17, 2009: David Bruder, Bill King, Michael Masters, Michael <br /> 34 Manthey, James Mesaros, Michael Peterson, Michael Schellenberg, James Scott, and Kevin <br /> 35 Stewart. Chief Streich also presented awards for a life saving incident that occurred on July 6, <br /> 36 2009 to the following firefighters: Michael Manthey, Michael Mooney, Brad Recutt, Kevin <br /> 37 Stewart. Mayor Bergeson assisted with the distribution of awards. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Turtleman Triathalon—Police Chief Pecchia accepted a check for the Lino Lakes Police <br /> 40 Department for$3,500 from Mark Steng representative of the Turtleman Triathalon. There are <br /> 41 twelve Police Reserve volunteers that assist during this event. Chief Pecchia noted that the <br /> 42 donation is very much appreciated. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Council Member Reinert moved to accept the funds. Council Member Gallup seconded the <br /> 45 motion.
