CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />January 22, 2018 <br />APPROVED <br />1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />2 MINUTES <br />3 <br />4 DATE : January 22, 2018 <br />5 TIME STARTED 6:00 p.m. <br />6 TIME ENDED : 6:25 p.m. <br />7 MEMBERS PRESENT Council Member Rafferty, Maher, <br />8 Manthey, Stoesz and Mayor Reinert <br />9 MEMBERS ABSENT None <br />10 <br />11 Staff members present: City Administrator Jeff Karlson; Public Safety Director John <br />12 Swenson; City Engineer Diane Hankee; City Clerk Julie Bartell. <br />13 <br />14 1. Public Safety Department Quarterly Update — Public Safety Director Swenson <br />15 reviewed a PowerPoint presentation. The presentation is on file. <br />16 <br />17 Highlighted: <br />18 - Medical call numbers are driven by services to the city's assisted living facilities; <br />19 Director Swenson explained that he is researching further the data on those calls; <br />20 Mayor offered comments regarding the need to careful plan for additional senior <br />21 facilities into the future; <br />22 - Mutual aid given and received; <br />23 - Regarding criminal offense numbers, Director Swenson noted that the numbers <br />24 could be in flux based on changing factors; <br />25 - Increase in domestic assaults; discussions underway to work in that area; <br />26 - DWI is up probably just because of more stops; the department is working toward <br />27 utilizing forfeiture funds for a safe ride home program for residents; <br />28 - Clearance rate is high and that indicates good work by the department staff; <br />29 - Notable events. <br />30 <br />31 The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m. <br />32 <br />33 <br />34 <br />35 <br />36 <br />These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the regular Council meeting held on <br />February 125 2018. <br />3;�JuIiAne Bartell, r <br />.0 <br />1 <br />
