AGENDA ITEM 5A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: March 14, 2016 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 16-14, Accepting Bids and <br />Awarding Contract for Lino Lakes Fire Station #1 Roof <br />Replacement Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City Council approved the plans and specifications and authorized the advertisement for bids <br />for the Fire Station #1 roof replacement project at the January 25, 2016 City Council meeting. <br />The bid opening was conducted on February 29, 2016 with the following nine bids submitted: <br /> <br /> Diverse Construction $115,778.00 <br /> Flynn Midwest $126,290.00 <br /> Peterson Bros. Roofing $128,965.00 <br />Palmer West Construction $136,700.00 <br /> Allweather Roof $137,568.00 <br /> Rainville Carlson $143,600.00 <br /> McPhillips Bros. Roofing $146,000.00 <br /> John A. Dalsin & Son, Inc. $147,157.00 <br /> Berwald Roofing $148,800.00 <br /> <br />Roof Spec Inc. has reviewed the bid submittals and is recommending award of the base bid <br />package to Diverse Construction with a bid amount of $115,778.00. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve Resolution No. 16-14, Awarding Contract for Lino Lakes Fire Station #1 Roof <br />Replacement Project to Diverse Construction with a bid amount of $115,778.00. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution No. 16-14 <br />Roof Spec Inc.
