Proclamation

WHEREAS, thousands of brave Minnesotans and many of our own Lino Lakes’ residents have
demonstrated courage and a commitment to freedom by serving in the Armed Forces of the United
States of America in active duty posts around the world; and,

WHEREAS, more than 40 percent of military personnel have children who are left behind during
deployment; and

WHEREAS, thousands of children in Minnesota have at least one parent currently serving in active
military; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that we recognize and honor their sacrifices, celebrate their spirit, and let our
men and women in uniform know that while they are taking care of us, we are taking care of their
children; and

WHEREAS, when parents serve in the military, their children serve too. By recognizing Military
Child Day, we pay tribute to military children for their commitment, sacrifice and their unconditional
support for our troops;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Jeff Reinert, Mayor of the City of Lino Lakes, do
hereby recognize the month of April as the Month of the Military Child and proclaim April 21, 2017 as
MILITARY CHILD DAY
and encourage all citizens of the City to join the City Council in honoring military children and
families.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of
Lino Lakes to be affixed.

Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council on March 27, 2017.

_______________________________
Jeff Reinert, Mayor

____________________________________
Attest: Julie Bartell, City Clerk
