Shoreview Public Works Tour β Depart City Hall at 5:30pm 14 <br />2. West Shadow Lake and LaMotte Project Update- City Engineer Hankee 15 <br />reviewed her written update. The project is moving forward with inspections and 16 <br />planning for neighborhood meetings. Website updates will be available near the end of 17 <br />the month. Staff has received a lot of calls from residents who are very happy that the 18 <br />project is moving forward, on both streets. 19 <br />2.5 Trunk Utility Connection Fee Report β City Engineer Hankee reviewed a 20 <br />PowerPoint presentation outlining: 21 <br /> 22 <br />- how and why fees are currently charged; 23 <br />- the types of connection charges (sewer and water); 24 <br />- proposed connection fees; 25 <br />- the option of splitting the fees, to be collected at different points (trunk and connection); 26 <br />- the reduction represented by the recommended fee structure; 27 <br /> 28 <br />An example of a new commercial development and the fees they would be charged was 29 <br />shown. Ms. Hankee pointed out that the study looked at what other communities charge 30 <br />and the recommendation is more in line with those findings. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Mayor Reinert clarified that the new fee structure would reduce the burden for a new 33 <br />business locating to an existing property in the city. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Community Development Director Grochala explained that, if the council concurs with 36 <br />the new structure, staff intends to put the information into the city code; itβs been 37 <br />displayed in resolution to this point. 38 <br />3. Police Body Worn Cameras β Public Safety Director Swenson reviewed his 39 <br />written staff report. The Public Safety Department is in the process of establishing a 40 <br />body camera process and policy for the department. State statute dictates some 41 <br />requirements regarding the establishment of this policy. The report is provided for 42
