CITY COUNCIL
AGENDA ITEM 3B

STAFF ORIGINATOR: Karissa Bartholomew, Human Resources Manager

MEETING DATE: November 13, 2017

TOPIC: Appointment of Parks Maintenance Worker

VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5

INTRODUCTION

At the last City Council meeting, a candidate was approved for hire to fill the vacant Parks
Maintenance Worker position. Unfortunately, that candidate withdrew from the hiring process
following City Council approval.

The Council is now being asked to approve the appointment of Macklin Glasby for the vacant
Parks Maintenance Worker position in the Public Services Department.

BACKGROUND

Mr. Glasby has over three years of experience forestry and is a certified tree inspector. He has
previous public works parks experience with the City of Oakdale.

The hourly rate of pay would be $21.73, which is step 1 of the union wage schedule. Mr. Glasby
will begin in the Parks Maintenance Worker position on November 14, 2017.

RECOMMENDATION

Approve the appointment of Macklin Glasby for the Parks Maintenance Worker position.
