CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6C <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Marty Asleson <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: March 13, 2017 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 17- 10 Approving <br />Environmental Board Goals For 2017 <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br /> Staff is requesting the adoption of Environmental Board Goals for 2017. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Each year, the Environmental Board annually sets goals as a part of their work program. The <br />Board adopted 2017 goals at their January 25th, 2017 meeting. The Environmental Board Goals <br />are included in the attached resolution. Most of the 2017 goals carry over from 2016 goals, <br />except for: <br />• Number 8, is the next step in the City EAB program; that of starting to treat Ash <br />boulevard trees. Interns will be trained to treat 1/3 of the City Ash boulevard trees. <br />• Number 9, Help to establish a city-wide process to fund wetland banking. The City <br />Council authorized WSB to prepare the Wetland Banking Fund plan in January of 2017. <br />• Number 11, Support efforts to develop an NPDES next phase inventory of our City storm <br />ponds, and adequate funding for stormwater maintenance. <br />• Number 12, Support the maintenance of established conservation easement areas where <br />funding is available. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution No. 17-10 approving the Environmental Board <br />goals for 2017. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
