<br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1 D <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad , Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: January 28, 2013 <br /> <br />TOPIC : Consider Adoption of Resolution No. 1 3 -7 <br /> Approving a n application for a Temporary On -Sale <br />Liquor License for the Lino Lakes Lions C lub <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Lino Lake Lions Club has scheduled its annual prime rib dinner for Saturday, March <br />2, 2 01 3 to be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 171 Elm Street. The Lino Lakes Lions Club is <br />requesting approval of a 1 to 4 D ay Temporary On -Sale Liquor License. The license is <br />necessary to allow the Lions Club to mix and dispense liquor that will be served as part <br />of the dinner. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The applicant is required to submit an applicati on to the city for approval prior to t he <br />event and city policy require s a background check on license applicants. Staff has <br />reviewed the application and background and found no reason to deny the license. <br /> <br />A copy of the appl ication and the results of the background check are on file in the ci ty <br />clerk’s office. The C ertificate of Liability Insurance required by th e Department of <br />Public Safety, Alcohol & Gambling Division, will be submitted upon city council <br />approval. <br /> <br />The organiz ation will also be submitting an application for an Exempt Gambl ing permit <br />to the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. Staff has confirmed that the Lions Club <br />meets the requirements of the city to allow for charitable gambling for this event. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve Resolution No. 1 3 -7 approving the Lino Lakes Lions Cl ub application for a <br />temporary on -sale liquor lic ense. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT <br /> <br />Resolution No. 13 -07
