CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1J <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIG INATOR: Jeff Karlson <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: January 28, 2013 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Lease Agreement with North Memorial <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Council is being asked to cons ider approving a lease agreement between the City of Lino <br />Lakes and North Memorial Health Care. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />In 2010, the City was successful in securing a three -year lease agreement for space provided at <br />Fire Station No. 2 for North Memorial’s ambulance s ervice . Prior to that, North Memorial had <br />operated its ambulance service at Station No. 2 for a number of years without any cost. The <br />agreement expired December 31, 2012. The lease agreement would be renewed for another <br />three years. <br /> <br />The terms of the le ase have not changed. North Memorial would continue to pay the City $676 <br />per month. This does not include phone service, internet service, or garbage disposal. The <br />lease also does not include operational costs, which is being paid directly to the Centen nial Fire <br />District. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Jerry Streich said there have been no problems with the current lease. North <br />Memorial has already approved the agreement. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of the new three -year lease agreement. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />Lease Agreement
