CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3 A <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Karlson <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: March 25, 2013 <br /> <br />TOPIC : Labor Agreement with Local 49 <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />We have reached a tentative two -year agreement with IUOE , Local No. 49 for years 2012 <br />a nd 2013 . The members have agreed to the following terms: <br /> <br />1. WAGES: 7/1/12 – 1%; 1/1/13 – 1.5% <br /> <br />2. HEALTH INSURANCE: Section 6.1 revised to read: <br /> <br />a) Effective January 1, 201 2 , E mployer will contribute $3 33.99 toward the premium <br />for single coverage and $8 55.66 toward the premium for family coverage. The <br />E mployer’s contribution for the Health Savings Account (HSA) toward the annual <br />deductibles will be $1,500 for single coverage and $3,000 for family coverage. <br /> <br />b) Effective January 1, 2013, Employer will c ontribute $344.01 toward the premium <br />for single coverage and $869.72 toward the premium for family coverage. The <br />Employer’s contribution for the health savings account (HSA) toward the annual <br />deductibles will be $1,000 for single coverage and $2,500 for f amily coverage. <br /> <br />c) Effective January 1, 2012, the monthly cash option for waiving coverage will be <br />$308.44. Effective January 1, 2013 the monthly cash option will be $300. <br /> <br />3. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING: A personnel time -off (PTO) plan will <br />be implemen ted for union members. Participation in the PTO plan will be optional. <br /> <br />There are no other changes to the contract. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIO N <br /> <br />Authorize execution of 2012 -2013 labor agreement between the City of Lino Lakes and <br />International Union of Operating Engin eers , Local No.49.
