CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6 -B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIG INATOR: Mary Alice Divine <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: April 22, 2013 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consi deration of Resolution No. 13 -45 Accepting a <br />Donation from TC Gateway for Blue Heron Days Festival <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Twin Cities Gateway (TCG), the convention and tourism bureau serving nine northeast metro <br />cities including Lino Lakes, provides an annual donation to member cities, based on a <br />percentage of the contribution each city brings in from hotel taxes . The grant is to be used for <br />expansion and promotion of events held within the city. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The TCG Board of Directors voted to provide a 2013 grant amount of $6,381.00 to Lino Lakes <br />for advertising and promotion of Lino Lakes Blue Heron Days. This year Lino Lakes P arks & <br />Recreation will be taking the lead on the event in cooperation with a committee of volunteers <br />and local organizations that participate annually. This year will be the 10 th anniversary of Blue <br />Heron Days and will be held the weekend of August 16 -18. It will include many of the same <br />events that took place last year in Lino Park and some new attractions as well. Applications for <br />the parade, the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo and sponsorship information <br />are available at blueherondays.org. <br /> <br />R ECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt Resolution No. 13 -45 . <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
