He announced the salary recommendation and effective hire date. 67 68 Council Member Maher moved to approve the appointment of Randy Brandt as recommended. 69 Council Member Rafferty seconded the motion. Motion adopted on a voice vote. 70 71 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT 72 73 There was no report from the Public Safety Department. 74 75 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT 76 77 There was no report from the Public Services Department. 78 79 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT 80 81 6A) Public Hearing, Consider Resolution No. 17423, Adopting Special Assessments, Weed 82 Abatement Charges — Community Development Director Grochala reviewed the written staff report. 83 The recommendation to assess relates to charges for correction of nuisance weed situations from the 84 past year. He discussed with the council the timeframe allowed for correction before the city 85 becomes involved, as well as the general cost per hour for services provided. 86 87 Mayor Reinert opened the public hearing. 88 89 There being no one present wishing to speak, the public hearing was closed. 90 2
