CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 4A <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIG INATOR: John Swenson, Chief of Police <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: May 13, 2013 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Emergency Management Plan <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />In order to ensure that City of Lino Lakes is prepared to respond effectively in event of a <br />disaster , an Emergency Management Plan was created in 2007. The proposed revision is the <br />third revision of this this plan since its creation. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Members of the police department have revie wed the entire Emergency Management Plan and <br />have made minor modifications to reflect current staffing positions, laws, and dates. This plan <br />was brought before the City Council during the Work Session on April 1, 2013. In order to <br />give members of the Cou ncil time to conduct a comprehensive review, the Council an d City <br />Directors were email ed copies of the Plan with all revisions highlighted and a proposed final <br />copy of the revised P lan on April 3, 2013 . <br /> <br />During the City Council Work Session on May 6, 201 3 the Emergency Management Plan was <br />discussed and the Council direct ed staff to bring the Plan forward to the City Council Meeting <br />on May 13, 2013 for consideration. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends appr oval of the Emergency Management Plan. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />Due to the sensitive and private information contained in the Emergency Management Plan, it <br />will not be posted on the City of Lino Lakes website. All members of the City Council and all <br />Directors have received an email with a complete copy of the Emergen cy Management Plan.
