CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 18-58 <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS <br />TO SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR PLAYGROUND STRUCTURES <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to collaborate with school districts to enhance the <br />playground structures located at school facilities within Lino Lakes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes is committed to providing playground structures that will <br />provide a fun and safe environment for children to play; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayor Reinert and Centennial Superintendent Brian Dietz have outlined a path to <br />improve or expand playground structures on school properties to help with this mutually <br />beneficial objective; and <br />WHEREAS, in consideration of this objective, Mayor Reinert has proposed a financial match of <br />50% of any funds spent on playground structures by a school district, not to exceed $20,000 per <br />year, provided the playground structure is: (1) located within the City limits; (2) accessible to the <br />public at all times of the day; and (3) for playground equipment only. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that <br />funding for playground structures be matched at a 1:2 ratio (e.g. City $10,000, School District <br />$20,000) whereby the City contributes funds for the improvement of school playground <br />structures, subject to review and approval by the City Council. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 14t day of May 2018. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />Rafferty and was duly seconded by Council Member Stoesz <br />vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Rafferty, Stoesz, Reinert <br />The following voted against same: <br />Manthey <br />Maher abstain <br />ATTEST: <br />91Ju is e Bartell, Ci Cler <br />and upon <br />Aktm, <br />Jeff Reinert, . o i <br />
