CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />MINUTES <br />DATE: August 2, 2018 <br />MEMBERS <br />PRESENT: Andrew Cravaro, Michael Ruhland, Julie Schwartz, Jim Schueller, Nathan <br />Vojtech, Chad Wagner <br />MEMBERS <br />ABSENT: Don Johnson, Thomas Colgan, Patrick Kohler <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Mike Grochala, Mara Strand <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />It was moved by Mr. Vojtech to approve the minutes from June 7, 2018 and seconded by Mr. <br />Cravaro. Carried 5-0 with 1 abstention. <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Lyngblomsten Senior Community <br />Lyngblomsten submitted a request for review of a PUD Concept Plan. Mr Grochala <br />explained that the they have taken previous submittal comments and incorporated into the <br />plan, including preservation of buffers, the height of the main building transitions from 2 <br />stories on the west side to four along Hodgson Road. Density within the Comprehensive <br />Plan states 8-15 units per acre, Lyngblomsten Concept Plan is 14.46 units per acre. <br />Committee members had questions about transportation improvements. Mr. Grochala <br />stated that the City has met with Anoka County and applicant will be required to submit a <br />traffic study. <br />Mr. Grochala noted that the corner properties were not included in the development <br />proposal. The developer is evaluating potential options but may request public assistance <br />to complete. <br />The committee noted it was an important entrance to the city and generally supported <br />working with the developer to incorporate the corner properties into the site. <br />Committee members requested information on the potential tax base creation. Mr. <br />Grochala stated in would have a rough estimate determined and provide at a future <br />meeting. <br />Applicant wants to be moving dirt by spring with a yearlong build <br />
