<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1 E <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIG INATOR: Lisa Hogstad -Osterhues , Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: July 22 , 2013 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Approval of Resolution No. 1 3 -23 , A pproving <br />Premise Permit Application from Centennial High School <br />Football Boosters Club to conduct Charitable Gambling at <br />the American Legion <br /> <br />VO TE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />An application for a p remises p ermit has been submitted by Centennial High School Football <br />Boosters Club by Candace Clark, Gambling Manager and Robert Kircho ff, Chief Executive <br />Officer . The application request permission for Centennial High School Football Boosters Club <br />to conduct charitable gamblin g at the American Legion, 7731 L ake Drive. Charitable gambling <br />is already in place at that location, benefiting the Centennial Youth Hockey Association. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The application is complete. The Lino Lakes Police Department has conducted a background <br />investigation relative to this application and found no information on the applicants that would <br />give a speci fic reason to deny the application. <br /> <br />Minnesota Lawful Gambling law requires that the local unit of government approve applications <br />for p remises p ermit before they are submitted to the Gambling Control Board for final <br />consideration. Therefore, the City Cou ncil is being asked to consider approval of a resolution <br />approving the application submitted by Centennial Hi gh School Football Boosters Club. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve Resolution No. 1 3 -23 , approving a p remise p ermit application from Centennial High <br />School Football Boosters Club to conduct charitable gambling at the American Legion, 7731 <br />Lake Drive . <br />
