They have been cited for having driveway that is too large. The driveway is already <br />installed; feel they are being punished for the contractor's error without a good reason. The variance <br />process is expensive and wouldn't fully solve the problem. They are asking the council for advice on <br />solving their problem. <br />Mayor Reinert noted his familiarity with the situation (has seen pictures). He recalled a council <br />discussion during the past year on what is an appropriate driveway size (considering the popularity of <br />larger garages). He believes that staff would not support a request for variance but, knowing about <br />the specifics in this case, Mayor Reinert said he would. <br />The council discussed in general how non-compliance in driveway width is handled. <br />SETTING THE AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as presented. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Council <br />Member <br />Maher moved to approve the Consent Agenda, <br />Items lA through 1G, <br />as presented. <br />Council <br />Member <br />Rafferty seconded the motion.
