They have been cited for having driveway that is too large. The driveway is already
installed; feel they are being punished for the contractor's error without a good reason. The variance
process is expensive and wouldn't fully solve the problem. They are asking the council for advice on
solving their problem.
Mayor Reinert noted his familiarity with the situation (has seen pictures). He recalled a council
discussion during the past year on what is an appropriate driveway size (considering the popularity of
larger garages). He believes that staff would not support a request for variance but, knowing about
the specifics in this case, Mayor Reinert said he would.
The council discussed in general how non-compliance in driveway width is handled.
SETTING THE AGENDA
The agenda was approved as presented.
CONSENT AGENDA
Council
Member
Maher moved to approve the Consent Agenda,
Items lA through 1G,
as presented.
Council
Member
Rafferty seconded the motion. Motion carried
on a unanimous voice
vote.
ITEM ACTION
Consideration of Expenditures:
October 22, 2018 (Check No. 109054 —
109141, $618,124.90)
Approved
1
