CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3A <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Karlson <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: September 10, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Labor Agreement with Local No. 49 <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />We have reached a tentative two-year agreement with I.U.O.E. Local No. 49 for 2018 and 2019. <br />After several negotiation meetings, the union voted in favor of accepting the following terms: <br /> <br />1. WAGES: 2.75 percent wage increase retroactive to January 1, 2018, and 2.5 percent wage <br />increase, effective January 1, 2019. <br /> <br />2. HEALTH INSURANCE: Article 16.1 revised to read: <br />a) Effective January 1, 2018, Employer will contribute $566.73 toward the monthly <br />premium for single coverage and $1,182.26 toward the monthly premium for family <br />coverage. <br />b) Effective January 1, 2019, Employer will contribute 100% of the base single plan and <br />$1,182.26 plus 50% of the 2019 premium increase toward the family plan. <br />c) The Employer’s contributions toward the Health Savings Accounts and the cash option <br />for waiving coverage are the same. <br /> <br />3. FUNERAL LEAVE: Same as City’s personnel policy. <br /> <br />4. APPENDIX F: New Memorandum of Understanding added to contract based on an <br />arrangement made in 2015 to create a combined Maintenance Worker/Mechanic position for <br />an unspecified period of time. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Authorize execution of 2018-2019 labor agreement between the City of Lino Lakes and I.U.O.E. <br />Local No. 49. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />M.O.U.
