<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6I <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: October 22, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 18-140, Accepting Quotes and Awarding a <br />Construction Contract, 2018 Surface Water Maintenance Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award the construction contract for the <br />2018 Surface Water Maintenance Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City’s annual Surface Water Management program addresses areas in need of maintenance, <br />and conforms to the City’s Surface Water Pollution and Prevention Plan. The proposed <br />maintenance for this year includes cleaning of storm sewer outfalls, removal of vegetation and <br />sediment din stormwater ponds, minor pond excavation and storm sewer structure <br />repair/replacement. Sites are selected for maintenance based on public input, input from Public <br />Works, and feasibility of locations. <br /> <br />Quotes were received for the above-referenced project on October 16, 2018. The quotes were <br />checked for mathematical accuracy and tabulated. <br /> <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL QUOTE <br />Olson’s Sewer Service, Inc. $105,706.00 <br />Forest Lake Contracting $145,000.00 <br />CW Houle, Inc. Did not quote. <br />Penn Contracting Inc. Did not quote. <br />North Pine Aggregate Did not quote. <br /> <br />The low quote was submitted by Olson’s Sewer Service, Inc., Forest Lake, Minnesota, in the <br />amount of $105,706.00.
