CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6C <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: October 22, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 18-139, Authorizing <br />Preparation of Plans and Specifications, North East <br />Drainage Outlet to Peltier Lake <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting council authorization to prepare plans and specifications for the North East <br />Drainage Outlet to Peltier Lake and the I-35E crossing project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />A Comprehensive Surfacewater Management Plan (CSMP) was prepared for the North East <br />Drainage Area to provide a surfacewater outlet for the landlocked area. The area is located north <br />of Main Street, west of the City of Hugo, east of Peltier Lake and south of Rehbein Street. The <br />site is approximately 1,350 acres and is largely agricultural or undeveloped within the City of <br />Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />The project includes an open channel outlet to Peltier Lake and the I-35E crossing design. The <br />total project cost for the open channel outlet to Peltier Lake and I-35E crossing is estimated to be <br />$3,001.930.00. The project would be funded through the City’s surfacewater management fund. <br /> <br />Project plans and approvals are anticipated to be completed by the end of May, 2019. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 18-139 authorizing preparation of plans and <br />specifications in the amount of $135,000. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
