CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Karlson, City Administrator <br />MEETING DATE: November 26, 2018 <br />TOPIC: 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 08-18, Amending Chapter 203 <br />*Council may vote to dispense with the full reading of the ordinance <br />*A roll call vote is required for adoption of the ordinance <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to consider the 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 08-18, <br />Amending Chapter 203 of the Lino Lakes Code of Ordinances regarding Council <br />compensation. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The current ordinance states councilmembers must sign a voucher proving their attendance in <br />order to be compensated for special meetings. After adoption of this ordinance, meeting <br />minutes will serve as proof of attendance at work sessions and special meetings. This <br />amendment will only be in effect until January 1, 2020, when the special meeting pay stipend is <br />eliminated in accordance with Ordinance No. 17-18. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 08-18, amending Chapter 203 of the Lino Lakes Code <br />of Ordinances. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Ordinance No. 08-18
