<br />An Ordinance defining crimes against property and prohibiting and
<br />punishing the same.
<br />The Village Council of the Village of Lino Lakes ordains:
<br />Section 1. Any person, firm, corporation or association who, with
<br />intent to sell or in any wise dispose of merchandise, securities,
<br />service, or anything offered by such person, firm, corporation or
<br />association, directly or indirectly, to the public, for sale or
<br />distribution, or with intent to increase the consumption thereof, or
<br />to induce the public in any manner to enter into any obligation relating
<br />thereto, or to acquire title thereto, or any interest therein, makes,
<br />published, disseminates, circulates, or places before the public, or
<br />causes, directly or indirectly, to be made, published, disseminated,
<br />circulated, or placed before the public, in this state, in a newspaper
<br />or other publication, or in the form of a book, notice, handbill, poster,
<br />bill label, circular, pamphlet, or letter, or in any other way, an
<br />advertisement of any sort regarding merchandise, securities, service or
<br />anything so offered to the public, which advertisement contains any
<br />assertion, representation or statement of fact which is untrue or mis—
<br />leading, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
<br />Section 2. Every person who shall injure or defraud another by using,
<br />with knowledge that the same is false, a false weight, measure, or other
<br />apparatus for determining the quantity of any commodity or article of
<br />merchandise, or by knowingly delivering less than the quantity he
<br />represents; or who shall retain in his possession any weight or measure,
<br />knowing it to be false, unless it appears beyond a reasonable doubt that
<br />it was so retained without intent to use it, or permit it to be used in
<br />violation of the foregoing provisions of this s•ctian; or who shall knowingly
<br />mark or stamp false or short weights or false tare on any cask or package,
<br />or knowingly sell or offer for sale any cask or package so marked — shall
<br />be guilty of a misdemeanor.
