AN ORDINANCE TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE <br />THE PUBLIC'S SAFETY BY REGULATING THE <br />DISCHARGE OF FIRE ARMS WITHIN THE <br />VILLAGE OF LINO LAKES AND PROVIDING <br />A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, <br />THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful to shoot, fire off, discharge <br />or explodeanygun, pistol, revolver, or other firearm or <br />device which ejects a projectile, upon or onto: <br />a) Any road, street, avenue, sidewalk or other public <br />place in this Village. <br />b) Lands lying southerly of the center line of Lilac <br />Street which are westerly of the center line of Lake <br />Drive (U. S. Highway No. 8) as the same are now laid <br />out and travelled. <br />SECTION 2: It shall be unlawful to shoot, fire off, discharge <br />or explode any single ball ammunition in this Village except <br />upon ranges permitted by the Village Council. <br />SECTION 3: It shall be unlawful to own or operate a rifle or <br />shooting range in this Village unless a permit therefore be <br />issued by the Village Council. The fee for such permit shall <br />be $15.00 and said fee shall be paid to the Clerk prior to <br />issuance thereof. <br />The permit may restrict use of the range during certain <br />times to prevent nuisance. <br />Before issuing any said permit the Council shall determine <br />that the range to be permitted is safe and will be operated in <br />a safe manner. Permits issued by the Village Council shall <br />continue until July 1 next following issuance, but shall be <br />subject to revocation upon a showing that the permittee has <br />allowed unsafe conditions to exist on the premises. <br />SECTION 4: Nothing herein contained shall prohibit the use <br />of firearms: <br />a) by duly authorized policemen or law enforcement officers, <br />
