(2) Nothing herein contained shall prevent the use of <br />such extinguisher, hose, or connections, inside or outside <br />standpipe, or its connection or hose connected therewith, <br />in the event of fire in the building in or upon which <br />said apparatus is kept, or its vicinity; nor prevent the <br />filling or repair of any extinguisher or the repair of any <br />standpipe, connection, or hose connected therewith, or the <br />inspection of any of said auxiliary fire -fighting equipment <br />by persons regularly authorized to inspect the same. <br />E. Certain Fire Extinguishers Prohibited. <br />(1) Scope. <br />This provision is for the purpose of limiting and <br />controlling the sale, purchase, and possession of certain <br />vaporizing liquid fire extinguishers in the Village of <br />Lino Lakes. <br />(2) Types of Fire Extinguishers prohibited. <br />No person, firm, or corporation shall sell, expose for <br />sale, buy, exchange, give, receive, or have in possession <br />any fire extinguisher containing any of the following <br />materials, or any other vaporizing liquid not specifically <br />approved by the Fire Marshal, whether laboratory approved <br />or not: <br />Carbon Tetrachloride CC14 <br />Chlorobromomethane CH2BrC1 <br />Azeotropic Chloromethane CM7 <br />Bromochlorodifluoromethane CBrC1F2 <br />Dibromodifluoromethane CBr2F2 <br />1,2-Dibromo-2-chlor-1, 1,2-trifluoroethane CBrF2CBrC1F <br />Ethlene dibromide CH2BrCH2Br <br />1,2-Dibromotetrafluorethane CBrF2CBrF2 <br />Hydrogen Bromide HBr <br />Methylene bromide CH2Br2 <br />Bromodifluoromethane CHBrF2 <br />Dichlorodifluoromethane CC12F2 <br />Methyl Bromide CH3Br <br />(3) Approval Required for Fire Extinguishers. <br />(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or <br />corporation, directly or through an agent, to sell or <br />offer for sale any make, type, or model of extinguisher, <br />either new or used, unless such make, type, or model of <br />extinguisher has first been tested and is approved and <br />Iabeiet ry ua1 Laboratories, Underwriter <br />Laboratories, Inc., or other testing laboratory approved <br />by the Fire Marshal, as providing adequate and reliable <br />tests and examination. <br />(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to deliver, or <br />make available for use in the Village any make, type, or <br />model of extinguisher which is not tested and/or serviced <br />as required in the standards of the National Fire Protec- <br />tion Association entitled "Standard for the Installation, <br />Maintenance and Use of Portable Fire Extinguishers" <br />(NFPA No. 10) date May, 1962, a copy of which is on file <br />in the office of the Village Clerk -Treasurer, and which <br />regulations hereby are adopted and made by reference a <br />part of this code. <br />
