Stoi That portion of a building between the surface of any floor and <br /> the surface of the floor next avove it, or, if there be no floor above it, <br /> then the space between such floor and the ceiling next above it. <br /> Story, Half: A story under a gable, hip or gambrel roof, the wall plates <br /> of which on at least two (2) opposite exterior walls are not more than <br /> three (3) feet above the floor of such a story. <br /> Street: A public or private thoroughfare which affords a primary means <br /> of access to abutting property. <br /> Structure: Anything constructed or erected, the use of which requires <br /> more or less permanent location on the ground or attachment to something <br /> having a permanent location on the ground. <br /> Structural Alteration: Any change in the supporting members of a building <br /> such as bearing walls, columns, beams, or girders, floor joists or roof <br /> joists. <br /> Tourist Automobile Camp: One or more detached or semi-detached buildings <br /> containing guest rooms and/or apartments with automobile storage or parking <br /> space in connection therewith, including grocery or general merchandise <br /> stores conducted in connection with such camp, and designed chiefly for <br /> the use and convenience of the traveling public, and/or land used for <br /> camping purposes by automobile transients. <br /> Yard: An open space on the same lot with a building, unoccupied and <br /> unobstructed from the ground upward, except as otherwise provided herein. <br /> Yard, Front: A yard extending across the width of the lot and measured <br /> from the front line of the lot to the nearest line of the building. <br /> Yard, Side: A yard on each side of the building between the building <br /> and the side line of the lot and extending from the front yard to the <br /> rear yard. <br /> Section 4. GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> 4.01 APPLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE <br /> (A) In their interpretation and application, the provisions of this <br /> Ordinance shall be held to be the minimum requirements for the <br /> promotion of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare. <br /> (B) Where the conditions imposed by any provision of this Ordinance <br /> are either more restrictive or less restrictive than comparable <br /> conditions imposed by any other law, ordinance, statute, reso- <br /> lution, or regulation of any kind, the regulations which are more <br /> restrictive, or which impose higher standards or requirements <br /> shall prevail. <br /> (C) Except as in this Ordinance specifically provided, no structure <br /> shall be erected, converted, enlarged, reconstructed or altered, <br /> and no structure or land shall be used, for any purpose nor in <br /> any manner which is not in conformity with this Ordinance. <br /> -4- <br />
