Lets kids use imagination and the paths encourage people to get out and exercise . <br /> John Nordland stated he liked the plan with a natural theme . Sees a lot of kids who like to <br /> build forts and such . <br /> Richard Jensen, Park Board Member, asked if the natural elements would be replaced as <br /> they get old and broken. Would they be replaced by more natural items ? <br /> It was noted that elements that start to decompose and rot would be replaced by other <br /> natural elements . It was stated that the elements might not always be the same thing . <br /> Stumps could be replaced by rocks , etc . <br /> Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director, informed the board members that the City is <br /> working with Anoka County on a Joint Powers Agreement. The park will actually be on <br /> County property and this was all discussed in 2015 but was delayed when development <br /> slowed . He stated that there is still some legal property contracts that still need to be <br /> signed but there is no anticipated delays . At the current moment that is the only thing <br /> they are working on getting in order prior to starting with Phase 1 once approved. <br /> Gooder asked DeGardner when the anticipated start time would be . DeGardner stated the <br /> he would be going to City Council in three weeks to present Phase I to the council and he <br /> expects them to approve and have him start to send out bids . Bailey, with WSB , stated <br /> that it will take 34 weeks for the bids . <br /> DeGardner addressed Pat Mahr, President of Centennial Lakes Little League, who was in <br /> attendance in regards to his thoughts on the clover leaf baseball fields that will be part of <br /> the Recreation Complex that were presented at the Council Work Session. DeGardner <br /> also asked Mahr if there would be any benefit to doing in field grass at least on one field . <br /> Mahr responded that if you do the infield grass you would lose girls softball . He stated <br /> the fields look great and that they would get a lot of use out of them and look forward to <br /> moving the teams off the fields that they currently use in the surrounding cities of <br /> Lexington, Blaine, and Circle Pines as these fields are not very good .
