CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 19-43 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BASE BID, AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION <br />CONTRACT, AND APPROVING THE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES CONTRACT, 2019 <br />MILL AND OVERLAY STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of the 2019 Mill and <br />Overlay Street Improvements Project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, <br />and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: <br />CONTRACTOR <br />TOTAL BID <br />North Valley, Inc. <br />$546,809.69 <br />Northwest <br />$551,350.33 <br />GMH Asphalt Corporation <br />$573,759.20 <br />Midwest Asphalt Services <br />$598,790.75 <br />Park Construction Company <br />$614,990.22 <br />T.A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc. <br />$642,753.37 <br />Bituminous Roadways, Inc. <br />$679,559.30 <br />WHEREAS, it appears that North Valley, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder, including Alternate <br />#1 of Deerwood Lane from Fox Road to the south end; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interests of the city to proceed with <br />the construction oversight and administration, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes: <br />1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with North <br />Valley, Inc. in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction of the 2019 Mill and <br />Overlay Street Improvements Project according to the plans and specifications approved by <br />the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. <br />2. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with WSB, <br />in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction services of the 2019 Mill and <br />Overlay Street Improvements Project in the amount of $39,028. <br />3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidder the Bid <br />Bonds made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next <br />two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 8th day of April, 2019. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />Manthey and was duly seconded by Council Member Stoesz <br />vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Manthey, Stoesz, Maher, Rafferty, Reinert <br />and upon <br />
