CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />April 22, 2019 <br />APPROVED <br />1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />2 MINUTES <br />3 <br />4 DATE April 22, 2019 <br />5 TIME STARTED 6*00 p.m. <br />6 TIME ENDED 6:20 p.m. <br />7 MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Member Rafferty, Maher, <br />8 Manthey, Stoesz and Mayor Reinert <br />9 MEMBERS ABSENT :None <br />10 <br />11 Staff members present: City Administrator Jeff Karlson; Public Safety Director John <br />12 Swenson; Community Development Director Michael Grochala; Finance Director Sarah <br />13 Cotton; Human Resources Manager Karissa Bartholomew; City Clerk Julie Bartell <br />14 <br />15 Review Regular Council Agenda of April 22, 2019 — <br />16 <br />17 Items on the agenda were reviewed. <br />18 <br />19 Item 313) Consideration of 2nd Reading and Passage of Ordinance No. 02-19 — <br />20 Administrator Karlson reviewed the staff report. <br />21 <br />22 Council Member Rafferty noted that 180 days is called out in the ordinance. He wonders <br />23 if that is an appropriate time frame. <br />24 <br />25 Mayor Reinert explained that the 160 days is referenced in consideration of the City's <br />26 petition and City Charter process. <br />27 <br />28 Council Member Stoesz asked about how the uniform policy is enforced (as referenced in <br />29 the ordinance). Administrator Karlson replied that the Public Safety Director would deal <br />30 with situations accordingly and as they arise. <br />31 <br />32 Item 4A) Accepting Monetary Donation to Canine Unit — Mayor Reinert indicated that <br />33 the donator should be present to be recognized. If they aren't present tonight, he <br />34 anticipates the matter will be postponed until they are. <br />35 <br />36 Items 6B, 6C and 6D were briefly reviewed. <br />37 <br />38 Council Member Maher added that she'd recommend that the council have the <br />39 opportunity to see the outgoing canine and then the incoming canine, in order to <br />40 recognize the change. <br />41 <br />42 The meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m. <br />43 <br />44 These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the regular Council meeting held on <br />45 May 13, 2019. <br />1 <br />
