1005. Zoning <br />The Zoning Ordinance of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, relating to and regulating <br />the location, size, use and heights of buildings, the arrangement of buildings on <br />lots, and the density of population in the City of Lino Lakes and for the purpose of <br />promoting the public health, safety, order, convenience, prosperity and general <br />welfare in said city, and for said purpose, to divide the city into districts, and make <br />different regulations for different districts, and amending or repealing all or parts <br />of certain city ordinances. <br />The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes does ordain as follows: <br />1005.01. Title. This Ordinance shall be known, cited and referred to as the <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES ZONING ORDINANCE <br />except as referred to herein, where it shall be known as "this Ordinance." <br />1005.02. Intent and Purpose. This Ordinance is adopted for the purpose of: <br />(1) Protecting the public health, safety, morals, comfort, <br />convenience and general welfare. <br />(2) Dividing the City of Lino Lakes into zones and districts <br />restricting and regulating therein the location and use of struc- <br />tures and land and lot size. <br />(3) Promoting orderly development of the residential, business, indus- <br />trial, recreational and public areas. <br />(4) Providing adequate light, air, and convenience of access to <br />property. <br />(5) Limiting congestion in the public rights -of -way. <br />(6) Preventing overcrowding of land and undue concentration of <br />structures by regulating the use of land and buildings in relation <br />to the land and buildings surrounding them. <br />(7) Providing for the compatibility of different land uses and the <br />most appropriate use of land throughout the City of Lino Lakes. <br />(8) Protecting and guiding the development of the rural area. <br />(9) Conserving and developing natural resources. <br />(10) Fostering agriculture and other industries. <br />(11) Preventing a wasteful scattering of population. <br />(12) Securing safety from flood. <br />
