The transmission lines are extremely rusty in
spots and actually starƟng to leak slightly
near the crimped porƟons.
The rear porƟon of the frame
is extremely rusty and is
something that will need to
be monitored closely. The oil
cooler lines are starƟng to
leak and will need to be
replaced if this vehicle is to
be kept around much longer.
The majority of the bushings on the
suspension components are warn and in
need of replacement.

The Streets Department would like to replace this truck with a larger truck that is more useful for the type
of work that they do on a daily basis. They recommend replacing it with a Ford F‐350 with a dumpbox. The
ability to dump out the dirt, rock, sand, tree branches, road debris, etc. instead of having to unload it manu‐
ally is a huge advantage. The larger truck would also be capable of hauling around the asphalt roller, tack
spray trailer, skid steer and other equipment that Vehicle #231 is not capable of towing around. The
Streets Department has a much larger demand for a larger, more capable truck than they do a small ½ ton
pickup truck.
96
