August 5 , 2019 <br /> TO : Park Board Members <br /> FROM : Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br /> RE : Woods Edge Park Update <br /> The City Council accepting the bids and awarded the construction project for Woods Edge Park <br /> during the April 8, 2019 City Council meeting . Later in the month our Parks Supervisor, <br /> Environmental Coordinator, Landscape Architect consultant, contractor, and myself met on -site <br /> for a pre - construction meeting . There was a concern about undergoing the site work (felling trees <br /> and bringing in heavy equipment ) and possibly unintentionally damaging one of the mature oak <br /> trees in the immediate area . This would likely cause an oak wilt infestation , resulting in the <br /> eventual loss of all oak trees ( There was a previous oak wilt infestation in the Regional Park ) .
