Preview for Board of Appeal and Equalization - Anoka County Assessor Alex 16 <br />Guggenberger first updated the council on staff changes at the County Assessor’s Office. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Mr. Guggenberger reviewed the Board report. Mayor Reinert asked that staff provide a 19 <br />contact number that they can pass on to the residents (so they can discuss their case prior 20 <br />to the board meeting). 21 <br /> 22 <br />Mr. Guggenberger explained how the assessment calculations are prepared: first using a 23 <br />preliminary basis point (6.9% for Lino Lakes) and then using additional information from 24 <br />there. He also explained how the Assessor calculates the value of municipal water and 25 <br />sewer connection. He referenced the quintile map (indicating when they will be visiting 26 <br />certain areas) included in the Board report that could be added to the City website. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Information reviewed included: 29 <br />- How the average home price in Anoka County compares to other metro area 30 <br />counties; 31 <br />- Values by county have tracked closely among counties; 32 <br />- Sales ratios – stay above 90%; 33 <br />- How tightly correlated sales are to average; 34 <br />- Aggregate value totals. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Mayor Reinert remarked that this will be the highest valuation that the City has 37 <br />experienced. 38 <br /> 39 <br />The Board of Appeal for Lino Lakes will be held on May 6th at 6:00 p.m. Staff will work 40 <br />on providing information for residents on when appraisers will be visiting in Lino Lakes 41 <br />and information their credentials. 42 <br />2.
