<br /> Anoka County 2019 <br />Multi-Jurisdictional <br />All Hazards Mitigation Plan <br /> <br /> 147 <br />Public lands: The City has 2 public parks, city offices, public works facilities and a fire station. <br />There are 3 churches in Lexington. The City of Lexington owns and operates Lexington <br />Memorial Park. It is nearly 20 acres in size and supports two tennis courts, five ball fields, a <br />hockey rink and a warming house. There are also two neighborhood playgrounds in the city. <br /> <br />Private fee areas: There are no private fee areas in Lexington. <br /> <br />Agriculture and forestry: There are no agriculture or forestry in Lexington. <br /> <br />Commercial and industrial development and trends: Lake Drive (CSAH 23), where most of <br />the commercial activity of the city is located, divides the city from the northeast to the southwest. <br />Retail uses dominate commercial areas, although there are automobile service uses, <br />restaurants, storage facilities, professional offices, and other commercial use as well. There is <br />no future growth anticipated. <br /> <br />The center of commercial activity in Lexington is Northway Shopping Center, located along the <br />south side of the Lake Drive frontage road. This center, which includes 90,000 square feet, was <br />built about 1950 and remodeled in 1989. The city considers Northway and its immediate <br />environs to be Lexington’s “downtown.” <br /> <br />Residential development and trends: The City of Lexington is nearly fully developed, with <br />residential uses constituting a majority of the area. Maximum anticipated residential growth is <br />20 homes. <br /> <br />Infrastructure and infrastructure projects: Local road improvements. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />LINO LAKES <br />Geographic location and characteristics: The City of Lino Lakes is located in northeastern <br />Anoka County, approximately 30 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Lino Lakes shares its <br />borders with Blaine, Circle Pines, Shoreview, Columbus, White Bear Lake Township, North <br />Oaks and Hugo. The City of Lino Lakes is 33 square miles in size. While residents are attracted <br />to the city because of its natural amenities, including 13 lakes and several seasonal wetlands, <br />Interstate l-35E and l-35W make it just a 20- minute drive to either downtown Minneapolis or St. <br />Paul. The City surrounds the City of Centerville. The City of Lino Lakes is located at Latitude <br />45.17 N and Longitude 93.10 Wand has an elevation of 889 feet. <br /> <br />Public lands: Within the City there is 3,580 acres of public lands. This includes a 5500-acre <br />Regional Park, and churches, schools, city offices, public works facility and a fire station. Within <br />the City, there are 203 acres of Public Park. <br /> <br />Private fee areas: Within the City of Lino Lakes there is a county public golf course, Chomonix. <br />Lino Lakes has two private airport facilities, the Hansen Sea Plane Base and the Lino Lakes <br />Airpark. <br /> <br />Agriculture and forestry: Approximately 3,920 acres within the City of Lino Lakes are <br />agricultural. While the City of Lino Lakes has an abundance of trees, there are no publicly <br />managed forestlands <br />
