COLUMBUS
Rural Nature, an Access.
June 28, 2019
City of Lino Lakes
Attn: Michael Grochala
600 Town Center Pkwy
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
RE: City of Lino Lakes 2040 Comprehensive Plan Review
Dear City of Lino Lalces,
Thank you for the opportunity to review the City of Lino Lalces 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
On June 26, 2019 the planning staff presented their recommendations to the City of Columbus
City Council. The City Council has reviewed these recommendations and would like to offer
the following comments regarding further intergovernmental collaboration.
1. The City would appreciate further discussion regarding fitture utility (sewer and water)
to serve the commercial district along Lake Drive/CSAH 23 in Columbus.
2. The City believes any coordination regarding future trail connectivity near the border
would help to gamer a beneficial symbiotic relationship in the adjacent residential
neighborhoods.
3. Further discussion regarding upgrades to roadways that cross city limits (i.e. Jodrell St
NE, 4th Ave N. and Lyons St/Ehmcrest Ave/ 24th Ave N.)
4. The City would like to discuss the future I-35W/I-35E connector plans, such as the
proposed full access interchange on 80' street. They would like to recommend
exploring alternative solutions to reduce the potential adverse impacts on existing
residential neighborhoods on Furman St. NE (pictured on the back) caused by an
increase in traffic volume.
We appreciate this opportunity to offer comment and thank you for your time. Please inform
us should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
l
Eliz th Mursko
City Administrator
16319 Kettle River Boulevard, Columbus, MN 55025
651.464.3120 Twin Cities 651.464.5922 Fax
www.ColumbasMN.com
r
e
