CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1J <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: September 9, 2019 <br />TOPIC Consider Resolution No. 19-116, Authorizing Issuance <br />of a Special Event Permit for Waldoch Farm, Inc. Pumpkin <br />Patch and Corn Maze <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />City Code Chapter 615 are the City's regulations regarding special events. The purpose of these <br />regulations is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of citizens by regulating time, place and <br />manner of conduct by establishing permit requirements. The City charges a $50 fee for special <br />event permits. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City has received an application from Waldoch Farm, Inc. to hold a special event on their <br />property September 21 through October 31. This is their sixth annual event. Since food is <br />involved, a condition is being attached to Waldoch Farms permit requiring them to contact <br />Anoka County Environmental Services for approval. <br />The Public Safety Department reviewed the application and signed off on the permit with <br />conditions. Administrative staff has reviewed the application and also signed off on the permit <br />with one exception. Waldoch Farm's has requested use of Elbe Street as an exit during the <br />event. The plans for use of Elbe Street are still under review and will come before the Council <br />on Monday, September 23. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the council approve Resolution No. 19-116, Authorizing issuance of a <br />Special Event Permit. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution No. 19-116 <br />Event Map <br />
