Recently the council heard from a resident who wishes to 18 continue with construction of a well when the City Code doesn't allow for it. The 19 council asked staff to review the situation. Mr. Grochala reported that a variance to the 20 city code would be required in order to allow the well project. If the council wishes to 21 consider an amendment to the city code, options are presented in the staff report along 22 with staff s recommendations. He pointed out information included on areas of the city 23 that are seen as more vulnerable for well drilling. An onsite proper septic system is seen 24 as a must. A change would have to be in ordinance for and the procedure required for 25 the passage of ordinances would a final change many weeks into the future. 26 Staff will present the facts to the concerned resident and report back to the council in 27 December. 28 2.
