CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1E <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy Clerk <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: November 25, 2019 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 19-161, Authorizing the Issuance <br />of a Special Event Permit for the Centerville Lions Annual <br />Ice Fishing Event to include an Exempt Raffle Permit and a <br />Temporary On-Sale Liquor License. <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Gregory Kieselhorst, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Centerville Lions has <br />scheduled a special event for Saturday, February 15, 2020 on Centerville Lake. The <br />event plans include an ice fishing contest, same day raffle, food and liquor sales. This is <br />an annual event. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Mr. Kieselhorst has submitted to the City an application for a Special Event Permit, <br />LG220 Application for Exempt Gambling Permit and a 1-4 Day Temporary On-Sale <br />Liquor License. He has also submitted general liability insurance for the event, approved <br />Anoka County Sheriff Water/Ice Use Permit, Approved DNR Permit to Conduct a <br />Fishing Tournament, approval to use the Anoka County Regional Park boat landing to <br />access the lake for the event and a temporary food license from the Anoka County <br />Environmental Services. The application has been reviewed and approved by staff and <br />the Public Safety Department. The applicant has been provided with a list of safety <br />conditions. The applicant has agreed to comply with the conditions and to address any <br />other safety considerations that may arise. <br /> <br />Background information on the applicant is on file in the Deputy City Clerkâs office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve Resolution No. 19-161, Authorizing issuance of a special event permit, <br />Gambling and 1-4 Day Liquor License to the Centerville Lions. <br />
