1st Reading: January 27, 2020 Publication: February 25, 2020 2nd Reading: February 10, 2020 Effective: March 23, 2020 CITY OF LINO LAKES ORDINANCE NO. 01-20 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 1007.053 RELATED TO ANTENNAS AND SMALL WIRELESS FACILITIES The City Council of Lino Lakes ordains: Section 1. Findings. On November 12, 2019, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 01-19 creating Chapter 305 in the City Code enacting Small Wireless Facilities Standards within the public right-of-way. An amendment to Section 1007.053 is necessary to provide consistency between the ordinances. Section 2. Amendment. Lino Lakes City Code Section 1007.053 is hereby amended as set forth below (added text is underlined): § 1007.053 ANTENNAS. (1) Purpose and Intent. The purpose of this section is to establish predictable and balanced regulations for the siting and screening of wireless communications equipment in order to accommodate the growth of wireless communication systems within the City of Lino Lakes while protecting the public against any adverse impacts on the City's aesthetic resources and the public welfare. The provisions of the section are intended to maximize the use of existing towers, structures, and buildings to accommodate new wireless telecommunication antennas in order to minimize the number of towers needed to serve the community. The Collocation of a Small Wireless Facility and the installation or replacement of a Wireless Support Structure in connection with the Collocation of a Small Wireless Facility on the Wireless Support Structure is subject to Chapter 305 of the Lino Lakes City Code. • Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage and publication according to the Lino Lakes City Charter.
