Ms. <br />Kaufenberg supported motion. Motion carried 6 - 0. <br /> <br />VII. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Resource Inventory – <br /> <br />Revisited the Resource Inventory Management Plan in which Mr. Asleson showed <br />us where the rare vegetation is likely located, due to the soil type in the area. Also <br />the likely locations of Blanding turtles. <br /> <br />There is a Resource Management Plan available on-line at the City of Lino Lakes <br />web site: Community Development, Water Resources, Management Plans, and then <br />Resource Management Plan. <br /> <br />B. Recycling Updates, Connor Kvendru <br /> <br />Mr. Kvendru address the contamination issue with the organics. He is getting <br />stickers from Anoka County to try and stop the plastic bags and containers that have <br />been dropped off in the organics collection cans. <br /> <br />Ms. Nelson said that there are locks that will not freeze that maybe we should be <br />looking into these locks if we get any more organics contaminated. <br /> <br />Mr. Kvendru also announced that Lino Park would be another organics drop off site. <br /> <br />Recycling Saturday on September 21 was very busy and could have been because <br />there was no Recycling Saturday in August. <br /> <br />Mr. Kvendru mentioned that the contract with Simple Recycling will end in <br />December; also, US Recycling drop boxes have been pulled. The reason given is the <br />market for these goods are down. <br /> <br />C. City Newsletter Information (Due Date: October 11) <br /> <br />Mr. Sullivan would like to have articles in the city newsletters titled such as, <br />Easy ways to improve your Lino Lakes Environment, which would draw awareness <br />to ways residents, can help the environment. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson stated there is always an article of Stormwater information in every <br />newsletter. <br />
