To The city of Lino Lakes, Building Official - Patrick E. Moonen & City Council For the Property at 7831 Lake Dr. Lino Lakes, MN, 55014 Right after we moved in we were told we couldn't have 2 sheds a house & a garage. So we had the house & existing garage reroofed because the house was leaking & built another garage in the back of the property bacause we have to be 45 ft away from the power lines that goes though the middle of our property. Meanwhile I had been helping my boyfriend with his house inside & out (see pictures), we put this roofing material on his house & we used smart siding (see picture). Since then we got hail damage which damaged the 3 roofs & the vinyl siding on the back garage. So my boyfriend said we should use the insurance money & put metal roofs on & put smart siding on the back garage as it's a more durable material. So I asked him if he would help us he said yes. Knowing I would have to order the materials that would take a few week I did. Menards lists this material as residential roofing (see pictures). After getting the materials (see pictures), we had to wait for a weekend with nice weather & for my son to not have National Guards duty before we could get started as we both also work during the week. Then I called Parick to see if we need to have a permit to reroof our 3 bldgs. He said that we did but we could get 1 permit that would cover all 3 roofs for $104.00 So I called city hall to get their hours & after work on 7/30/20 1 stopped to get the permit. They said I couldn't use this type of roofing materials. I have already bought the material & can't take them back because they are special order & special cut parts. I ask that you allow us to use this roofing materials to roof our house. I also ask that you allow us to use this same materials to roof the 2 garages. Thanks Kathy &James Thayer 8/7/2020
