CITYOF
IN I<E
DATE : October7, 2020
TO : Park Board Members
FROM : Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director
RE : Lino Park Playground/Park Shelter Concept Plans
Lino Park is one of our three most heavily utilized parks. The other two parks recently had new
playground equipment installed ( Birch Park-2018 and Sunrise Park-2019 ) . The existing playground
equipment at Lino Park was installed in 1998 . The open-air shelter was constructed in 1986.
Staff requested WSB to create a few concept plans to replace the playground equipment and park
shelter. Another issue we want to address is to create improved separation from the parking lot
and the active park area . In addition, staff feels that keeping the playground equipment in the
same general area ( rather than relocating elsewhere) makes economical and functional sense.
I am interested in hearing feedback from the Park Board regarding the three attached concept
plans . Potential funding sources are the Parks and Trail Fund and the Dedicated Parks Fund .
