(a) Single Family Dwellings. All single family detached dwellings in the R, R- <br />X, R-1, R-1X, R-EC, and R-2 Districts shall meet the following design criteria: <br />4. Single family dwellings shall have at least a four/twelve (4/12) roof pitch <br />and shall be covered with shingles, er tiles, of hidden fastener (i.e. <br />standing _ seam) metal roof, or exposed fastener metal roof provided the <br />exposed fasteners are the same color as the metal roofing material. <br />Additional Considerations <br />1. The City zoning ordinance does not address commercial, industrial, or <br />institutional roof material requirements. <br />a. Should the text amendment also include metal roof requirements for these <br />uses? <br />2. What is the Board's position on a future single family home owner installing a <br />metal roof with different color fasteners? <br />REQUESTED BOARD DIRECTION <br />Staff is requesting Board input regarding the proposed zoning ordinance text amendment <br />regarding metal roofs. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
