CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20-40 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE 2020 REGIONAL SOLICATION GRANT <br />APPLICATION SUBMITTAL FOR A MULTIUSE TRAIL ALONG MAIN STREET <br />(CSAH 14) BETWEEN LINO LAKES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND THE I-35W <br />OVERPASS <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) is requesting project submittals for <br />federal funding under the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act; and <br />WHEREAS, funding requests are for the federal fiscal years 2024 and 2025; and <br />WHEREAS, funding provides up to 80 percent of project construction costs; and <br />WHEREAS, bicycle and pedestrian facilities that benefit the regional bikeway system are <br />eligible projects for the funding request; and <br />WHEREAS, Main Street (CSAH 14) is considered a Regional Bicycle Transportation Network <br />(RBTN) Tier 2 alignment; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a gap in the multiuse trail network along Main Street (CSAH 14) between <br />Lino Lakes Elementary School and the I-35W overpass; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed multiuse trail would complete a gap in the Central Anoka County <br />Regional Trail system and provide access to local and regional destinations such as the Lino <br />Lakes Elementary School, Rice Creek Regional Park, Lino Lakes Public Works, and Lino Lakes <br />Senior Center. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that <br />staff is hereby authorized to submit a 2020 Regional Solicitation grant application for a multiuse <br />trail along Main Street (CSAH 14) between Lino Lakes Elementary School and the I-35W <br />overpass. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lino Lakes commits to providing snow and ice <br />control to support year-round bicycle and pedestrian use of this facility should the funding be <br />awarded and project constructed. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 27th day of April, 2020. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Councilmember Stoesz and <br />was duly seconded by Councilmember Lyden and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br />Stoesz, Lyden, Ruhland, Cavegn, Rafferty <br />The following voted against same: <br />None <br />
