• <br />• <br />• <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 5A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />MEETING DATE: September 14, 2020 <br />TOPIC: Consider Approval of Resolution No. 20-103, Awarding 2020 Lino <br />Lakes Facilities Touchless Entry Upgrades Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting City Council consideration to award the 2020 Lino Lakes Facilities Touchless <br />Entry Upgrades Project at the Civic Complex and Public Works/Senior Center associated with <br />facility improvements related to the COVID-19 pandemic. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council approved Resolution No. 20-92, Authorize the Advertisement for Bids for the <br />2020 Lino Lakes Facilities Touchless Entry Upgrades at the August 24, 2020 City Council <br />meeting. This project (including bid alternates) consists of installing six automatic bi-parting <br />sliding entries at the Civic Complex (two at each entrance), and converting approximately 70 <br />existing doors to touchless entry at several city owned -facilities. <br />Bids were opened on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Two bids were received as follows: <br />City Hall and Police Dept <br />Fire Station #1(Bid Alternate) <br />Fire Station #2 (Bid Alternate) <br />Public Works (Bid Alternate) <br />Senior Center (Bid Alternate) <br />Wheeler Hardware <br />$298,205.00 <br />$44,055.00 <br />$52,660.00 <br />$33,725.00 <br />$41,500.00 <br />Cy -Con, Inc. <br />$376,118.00 <br />$68,673.00 <br />$76,309.00 <br />$55,668.00 <br />$46,893.00 <br />Staff is recommending moving forward with the base bid of the City Hall and Police Dept, and <br />the Public Works bid alternate. This results in awarding the bid to Wheeler Hardware in the <br />amount of $331,930. Final completion date is November 9, 2020. <br />Staff has determined that this project meets the eligibility requirements (necessary expenditures <br />due to COVID-19, not accounted for in the most recently adopted budget, expenditures will be <br />incurred during the covered period of March 1 to November 15, 2020) for 100% CARES Act <br />funding reimbursement. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 20-103. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution No. 20-103 <br />
