• <br />• <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 5A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />MEETING DATE: September 21, 2020 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution 20-107, Award Bids for the 2020 City Hall <br />Renovation Project, Rick DeGardner <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting City Council consideration to award eight bids related to the 2020 City Hall <br />Renovation Project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Council approved a Construction Management Services Agreement for the 2020 City Hall <br />Renovation Project via Resolution 20-100 at the August 31, 2020 City Council meeting. CNH <br />Architects finalized the plans and specifications. H+U Construction has solicited multiple prime <br />contractors on behalf of the City to perform various scopes of work and have provided competitive <br />solicitation. Direct award of these contracts complies with the City's procurement policies. <br />Staff is recommending awarding of the following contracts: <br />General Construction <br />Casework and Countertops <br />Storefronts, Windows, and Glazing <br />Flooring <br />Fire Protection <br />Heat, Piping, and HVAC <br />Electrical, Communications, and Fire Alarm <br />Interior Furnishings (City direct order) <br />George F. Cook Construction <br />Oakcraft Inc. <br />Capital City Glass <br />Hauglies, Inc. <br />Olsen Fire Protection <br />RJ Mechanical, Inc. <br />Vinco, Inc. <br />Innovative Office Solutions <br />$141,895.00 <br />$45,800.00 <br />$10,990.00 <br />$23,392.86 <br />$1,885.00 <br />$25,000. 00 <br />$35,940.00 <br />$92,426.89 <br />Staff has determined that this project meets the eligibility requirements (necessary expenditures due to <br />COVID-19, not accounted for in the most recently adopted budget, expenditures will be incurred <br />during the covered period of March 1 to November 15, 2020) for 100% CARES Act funding <br />reimbursement. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 20-107. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Resolution No. 20-107 <br />Recommendations for Award of Contracts Letter <br />Bid Tabulation <br />Renderings of Lobby area and Service Window <br />Work Space Floor Plan <br />
