• • • CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 20-137 PROHIBITING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF BIRCH STREET (CSAH 34), BOTH SIDES OF TOMAHAWK TRAIL, AND BOTH SIDES OF WEST SHADOW LAKE DRIVE WITH CONSTRUCTION OFAROUNDABOUT WHEREAS, the Anoka County, in cooperation with the City of Lino Lakes has planned for the reconstruction Birch Street (CSAH 34) within the City of Lino Lakes from Hokah Drive to Deerwood Lane; and WHEREAS, County State Aid and Municipal State Aid funds will be expended to construct this improvement; and WHEREAS, approval of this reconstruction project as a State Aid project is conditional upon the establishment of parking restrictions; and WHEREAS, this reconstruction does not provide adequate width for parking along Tomahawk Trail, and West Shadow Lake Drive; and parking on Birch Street (CSAH 34) will not be allowed pursuant to Minnesota Rules, Chapter 8820.9936 whereas parking is prohibited on urban reconstruction of State Aid Routes with over 10,000 vehicles per day and a design speed of 50-mph or greater; and approval of the proposed reconstruction as a County State Aid project must therefore be conditioned upon certain parking restrictions WHEREAS, the City Council is cognizant ofproviding regulation of vehicular traffic in a safe and responsible manner; and WHEREAS, the regulatory signs are considered to meet warrants for traffic control established in the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by The City Council of The City of Lino Lakes that: 1. Parking is prohibited along both sides of Birch Street (CSAH 34) from Hokah Drive to Birch Court; and 2. Parking is prohibited along both sides of Tomahawk Trail from a point 110-feet south to a point 100-feet north of Birch Street (CSAH 34); and 3. Parking is prohibited along both sides of West Shadow Lake Drive from a point 145- feet south to a point 130-feet north of Birch Street CSAH 34). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Anoka County Engineer is authorized to install signs as deemed necessary for the proper enforcement of this No Parking Resolution, and that certified copies ofthis resolution be forwarded to Anoka County.
