A -,a, zc N 7
464-5562
dilq el £iw £akeo
April 27, 1976
RESOLUTION
1189 Main Street
Lino Lakes, Minnesota 55014
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, the City of Lino Lakes does not agree with
any proposal to route the 500 Kilowatt Power Line to be built by
Minnesota Power and Light Company through the City of Lino Lakes
for the following reasons:
1. The deterioration of visual environmental conditions
produced by removal of trees and natural environment
and replacement with large streel structures will have
a negative effect on those living within sight of the
lines.
2. The increase in noise pollution from the freeway
resulting from the removal of trees and brush under
the lines will have an adverse impact on those living
close to the freeway.
3. Future desirable building areas serviced by paved
county roads will be destroyed and the owners will
suffer potential loss.
4. Certain of these areas of the City have long been
identified for environmental protection whether by
the private or public sector and our Ordinances and
the cooperation and good sense of our citizens have
accomplished much in this direction. It would be a
complete reversal of that indicated concern to accept
as industrial use in those locations.
5. The City of Lino Lakes has already provided great
quanties of land for various projects of Metropolitan
and State wide significance with resulting loss of
tax base. The lands include Highway 135E and I35W
plus 2500 acres committed to Anoka County for a
park reserve.
The above Resolution was moved by Mr. John McLean, seconded by
Mr. Harvey Karth with all members present and voting in favor.
I, the undersigned Clerk -Treasurer for the City of Lino Lakes
do hereby certify the above to be a true and exact copy of the
Resolution duly passed by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes
at a regular scheduled Council meeting held on the 26th day of
April, 1976.
1. ... {• ie... < i...
Edna L.
