VILLAUE COUNCIL OF <br />LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO, <br />RESOLUTION, SUPPORTING THE <br />ANOKA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS' <br />ASSUTMPTION OF THE DUTY TO <br />DELEGATE A COMPETENT COUTY OFFICIAL <br />TO MONITOR 1,2 TROPOLI TAN TRANSIT T ACTVITIES <br />INSOFAR. AS THY RELATE TO <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, the Village:of of Lino Lakes Inas always supported, <br />and continues to support, the concept of improved transit <br />facilities within its city limits and within the confines of <br />Anoka County as a whole, and <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transit Commission is currently <br />studying transit plans for the entire metropolitan area, while <br />also considering a proposal for an Anoka County Transit Btudy,. <br />which will affect the quality and kind of transportation which <br />the inhabitants of the Village: 'if Lino Lakes and the rest of the <br />inhabitants of Anoka County will receive, and <br />WHEREAS, transit is an area type problem which can be <br />best dealt with on a county -wide basis to protect and advance <br />the interests of all the citizens of Anoka County, and <br />WHEREAS, the Anoka County Board of Commissioners has con- <br />sistently taken a progressive approach to improving the wel- <br />fare of all inhabitants of Anoka County as well as the welfare <br />of the citizens of the \fillage of Lino Lakes ,. and <br />WHEREAS, the activities of the Metropolitan Transit Commis- <br />sion are an ongoing affair which oust be consistently scrutin- <br />ized by qualified individuals to insure that the best interests <br />of the inhabitants of Anoka County and the citizens of the <br />Village of Lino Lakes are realized, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED. THAT thezillaae Council of <br />the village of Lino Lakes supports the delegation of a properly <br />qualified County Staff individual to monitor the activities of <br />the Metropolitan Transit Commission insofar as they affect <br />Anoka County and the village of Lino Lakes , to keep the County <br />Board of Commissioners and the elected munioipal councils of <br />Anoka County apprised of such activities, and to be empowered <br />to take a visory positions en heLTart of Icald_:C®unty..and._ aid <br />nunioi1al.ities, <br />
