He said the boulevard on the opposite <br />side of the street should have been adjusted as well. <br /> <br />Shannon Shaughnessy, 210 Elm Street, asked what the footprint of the new home is. <br /> <br />Ms. Larsen stated the house pad, according to the plan set, is typically 50 ft. x 50 ft., <br />but it could be 40 ft. x 60 ft. She explained the city will not know the footprint of <br />the home until the applicant submits the building permit application, but irrespective <br />of that, the home will not be larger than the house pad listed on the grading plan of <br />the preliminary plat. <br /> <br />Ms. Shaughnessy expressed concern regarding the size of the new lot and questioned <br />whether it will look cohesive with the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Chair Tralle stated the applicant met all of the criteria to build a house on the lot. He <br />asked Ms. Larsen to summarize the criteria for Ms. Shaughnessy. <br /> <br />Ms. Larsen explained the property is zoned R1 and is required to be, at a minimum, <br />80 ft. wide and 135 ft. deep. The lot is 80 ft. wide and 163 ft. deep. Thus, it exceeds <br />the minimum lot size requirement. The lot meets all of the side setbacks and it <br />exceeds the rear setback. <br /> <br />Ms. Shaughnessy asked if the new lot is set up with city sewer and water. <br /> <br />Ms. Larsen confirmed it is. <br /> <br />Mr. Evenson made a MOTION to close the Public Hearing at 7:03 p.m. Motion was <br />supported by Mr. Laden. Motion carried 5 - 0. Chair Tralle abstained. <br /> <br />Board Discussion <br /> <br />Mr. Reinert commented the lot is oversized and it will, likely, be conforming to the <br />neighborhood once constructed. He asked Ms. Larsen if Public Safety reviewed the <br />project and if so, did they have any comments. <br /> <br />Ms. Larsen confirmed they reviewed the project. She stated the police division and <br />fire division had no public safety concerns. <br /> <br />Mr. Reinert asked Ms. Larsen to share Ms. Galetka’s safety concern with Public <br />Safety to see if they would have a change in opinion. <br /> <br />Diane Hankee, City Engineer, said the city has a transportation committee who <br />works with Public Safety and Public Works to monitor traffic. She explained the <br />committee receives calls about through traffic and school traffic for the entire area <br />from Sunset Avenue to Elm Street to Lake Street. She mentioned it can be difficult <br />to address traffic concerns since residents are utilizing personal vehicles for
