CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br />MEETING DATE: January 25, 2021 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 21-01, Accepting Quotes and Awarding a <br />Construction Contract, 2020 Surface Water Maintenance Project 2 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award the construction contract for the <br />2020 Surface Water Maintenance Project 2. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City's annual Surface Water Management Program (SWMP) addresses areas in need of <br />maintenance, and conforms to the City's Surface Water Pollution and Prevention Plan. The City <br />performs storm sewer repair and cleaning, vegetation removal, sediment removal, and pond <br />excavations. The 2020 Surface Water Maintenance Project 2 primarily includes storm pond <br />sediment removal. This type of work is best completed in dry conditions or the winter season. <br />The 2020 Surface Water Maintenance Project 2 includes 3 project sites, shown in the table <br />below: <br />AREA <br />IMPROVEMENT <br />Site 1 (6998 Black Duck Drive) <br />Remove sediment, debris, and vegetation in pond, clean <br />storm sewer infrastructure <br />Site 2 (Brandywood Estates) <br />Remove sediment, debris, and vegetation in pond, clean <br />storm sewer infrastructure <br />Site 3 (600 Town Center Parkway) <br />Remove sediment, debris, and vegetation in pond, clean <br />storm sewer infrastructure <br />Funding for the project is from the General Fund Streets Budget, which includes $140,000 for <br />the Surface Water Maintenance projects. On December 14, 2020, the City Council awarded <br />Surface Water Maintenance Project 1 in the amount of $40,304.53. The combined projects are <br />within budget. <br />Quotes for the project were received on January 4th, 2021. <br />CONTRACTOR <br />TOTAL QUOTE <br />C.W.
